Our Library's puppets aim toward high literary and artistic quality. Puppet show scripts are adapted from children's books, mainly in the area of folklore. Props, sound effects, and puppets are developed to be aesthetically satisfying and simple enough to be used by non-expert puppeteers.  To borrow from this collection, which cannot be requested online through our catalog, contact a librarian at your local branch.

PUPPETS

Order single plush stuffed PUPPETS (many from Folkmanis®). Over 200 different types of animals, insects, and fish are available. Over 30 book character puppets (like Curious George, Madeline, and Clifford) are available.

SHOWS & SETS

Puppet shows are designed for 1 or 2 puppeteers and to last from 17 minutes.
Finger puppet sets and flannel board sets are also available and can be used as props for familiar nursery rhymes, stories, and fairy tales.

ACCESSORIES

puppet stage can also be ordered separately.

Anyone with a valid Cuyahoga County Public Library (or Greater Access) card can use Puppet materials for any non-profit organization program that is open to the public with no admission charge. The service is free; the lending period is 1 week and puppets are not renewable. Late fee is $1 per day.
